Channel 6 digital question

I think I read that WPVI-TV has elected to stay at Channel 6 when they go all digital and have to turn off their analog transmitter. My question, can channel 6 continue with an analog audio broadcast on 87.7 MHz in addition to the digital broadcast? Sort of like reverse HD radio...

If they don't, will there be any digital noise at 87.7 from the digital broadcast?

I don't think so -- the audio will be in digital, and will be encoded according to digital TV standards, instead of digital radio standards.

In other words, you won't hear any audio on 87.7 FM.
