Channel 6 finally getting new set?

Just finshed watching the noon broadcast. Rick Williams anchored the news by himself from the newsroom, with a action news board for a backround. Single camera shot was used the entire broadcast (while going to breaks the action news graphic would just appear on screen before fading out.) the single cam also didn't do any zooming in or out during the broadcast including the standard ending when they ussally zoom out before credits. Also the weather was done outside.

EDIT: Fixed typos in title.

it's funny you should start this post because, while watching the past coupleof weeks, i thought the lighting in the studio was different with a lot of glare on the anchors' foreheads. should be interesting to see what they come up with. let's hope it's not too many bells and whistles.

6 PM -- using old set

The lights were funky so everyone looked a tad darker.

They could be re-doing the Accuweather hub or possibly re-doing the set in full.

I would imagine this would be done by Thursday (since sweeps starts then).

Are there any plans to redesign the NBC10 anchor desk area? The only recent upgrades were to the Earthwatch and left back graphic monitor. Also, is NBC10 creating a second smaller interview type studio now that the radio stations are gone?

Possibly by Superbowl time

this is from noosjunkie on the tvnewstalk.net philly board so any questions, refer there-
OK it's official -- WPVI is getting a new set. It will be unveiled sometime around the superbowl (yay February sweeps!). The new studio will feature 3-dimensional glass replicas of some of Philly's landmarks (ie the Museum of Art, Philly skyline, etc) which will be lit-up in many different colors. The new digs also feature a new weather set, similar to that of CBS3 and NBC10, complete with numerous flat-screen plasma TVs. Apparently, the changes that you all have noticed regarding the old set and different lighting has nothing to do with the new set, as the new set is in a completely different room, down the hall from the old studio.

The Daily News reports yesterday's problems were technical - and anchors made references to the technical difficulties during the 5 and 6 PM newscasts yesterday.

What this has to do with 'PVI, I don't know, but...

From what I had heard, NBC 10 is constructing a new set for 10! now that the radio stations have vacated. The new set will feature seating for an audience. Apparently they aren't too fond of originating from the lounge at Loew's.

Back to using the complete old set today, so i'm guessing yesterday they just simple moved the old set to a new studio, while a new one is contructed in there normal studio. Looks like its a little smaller. Camera looks more ontop of the anchors, and the lighting is still a bit odd.

PVI's NEW set debuts "soon"

Noosjunkie posted again--saying the new set "should" debut as possibly as early as the 11p newscast after the SuperBowl this Sunday...

will the weekday crew work the 11 pm newscast on sunday night or will the more-than-qualified team of jennings, russell and mosey handle the post-super bowl duties? channels 3 and 10 would always bring in their top anchors, but 6 usually stays with their normal schedule of anchors.

chopper six in HD, coming soon.

Well it may be about an hour until the expacted debut of the new set, but I just saw a ad promoting chopper six in HD (with coming soon), so I guess this should end the talk on if they are going full HD or not.
