Channel 92.3

Which company is going to buy KSJO and KUFX?

Nextmedia - can't because of Bankruptcy

Univision - maxed out

Empire Broadcasting - possible

Entercom - Possible?

Culumus - can't money issues

Citadel - can't because of Bankruptcy.

Royce International Media - Maybe?

Mapleton is another possibility.

Everyone keeps forgetting that Channel 92.3 is owned by...CLEAR CHANNEL.
They don't give a crap about the way Channel does stuff. They moved it off 104.9 because they would be able to make more money from saving it for a little while and selling it with the other english formats and letting go the Spanish format go first, not because there was more popularity for the format. They let Channel do their own thing for a while because CC thought that with the bigger signal, it would automatically bring more people and they gave them a while for the listeners to adjust to the change but when the ratings didn't improve on their front as much as they expected, CC starts making them tweak around and try to be like 98-7 in LA. It might sound like a stupid 3 AM rant, but it could be that way.

Henry Ochs or even Hunkey Snarkey

How about Eagle Communications? They own radio stations in Kansas, Nebraska and Missouri.
I would love to see them buy radio stations out here!

They won't buy anything that far from home. I know both of the guys who founded the company that was the basis for this company (since it has been spun off and is employee owned now.) They had a number of radio stations and several CBS affiliated TV stations at the time. Just flopped in last fall to one of the stations and saw my old morning show partner, who is now a sales manager.

Channel stands more chance of being noticed by being uniquely Channel and keyed into those shows they were putting on instead of being Live 105 version 2. Why would 92.3 win any converts with a carbon copy of the playlist of 105? There is a modern rock audience out there that doesn't have to hear Nirvana and RHCP every hour on the hour.

If you go to yes.com and type in the station call letter KSJO. At 6:24 PM Sat, Jul 3, 10, The station played Metallica - Enter The Sandman. And you could see what they played for the last seven days. Right now they tend to play classic current or recurrent rock and they just want to play everything? I listen to this station since 2000, and right now the music they playing is kind of strange. Because the rating is so low they trying to play something different. CCC might sell the station or change format. RIP

That is what a lot of Alternative stations are playing these days mixing Alternative with Active rock hits, maybe it would be good to make it a combination of The Bone and KITS,kind of make it more like the original KSJO.

What happen to Channel 92.3 in term of music. They played Shinedown, Metallica, and a list of 90's rock?
The type of music(song choices) they playing is something I never heard before. Can someone tell me what's going on?
Is this something to do with the rating is so low. I Want The Old KSJO back. The Bone is not very good.

I find them even more all over the place now, compared to when we wrote this a couple weeks ago. They are tweaking for everyone at once it seems. What's even more strange, is amongst all the active rock junk like Linkin Park and Metallica and Shinedown, is thrown in the mix are great tracks like The Heavy's "How You Like Me Now", The Dandy Warhols "Bohemian Like You", Depeche Mode's "People Are People" The Folk Implosion's "Natural One", which seem to be put back in rotation from the last incarnation. However, why play the cool stuff when you know you're probably going to hear Seether or Puddle of Mudd after it anyways? People who want to hear the first set of bands will tune out when they hear the more indie stuff and vice versa. Make up your mind Channel 92.3!!

2 months later and Channel 92.3 as we know it seems gone for good. :-\

The station is now a complete mess - honestly it's painful to listen to. It's about 96% completely generic alt. bands, with a seemingly mandatory U2 song every hour. ::) I'll give them that I've noticed them playing a bigger variety of songs by these particular bands, but really, when I hear the Foo's every hour, I'm not really going to care whether or not it's "Learn to Fly" or "This is a Call." They all sound the same to me anymore. Same with Soundgarden - "Rusty Cage" isn't going to make me warm up to them any more than hearing "Black Hole Sun" for the umpteenth time. With the remaining 4% being sprinklings of Goo Goo Dolls here, The Fray there, some Lifehouse and even Owl City which I heard twice this weekend (and it gets a big WTF - they never even touched "Fireflies" when it was out). Then once in awhile, perhaps once a day or so, they play something so ridiculously far out of left field that it would almost be good, but I'm not going to sit through 23:56 of crap just for that.

The DJs are back, and while they used to be fun to listen to, and they sound the same...I just don't believe them anymore. I don't believe their excitement in announcing that we just heard "Scar Tissue" for the 1000000th time.

If it's going to be like this, then CC should just flip the station already... :-\

It would be nice if Clear Channel would resurrect the "92 KSJO" brand, with the same type of aggressive stationality & playlist the station featured during its heyday.

The last few years of KSJO were quite disappointing, but prior to that, it was a great station.

Channel 92-3 is awful. It plays music that can already be heard on Alice and Live 105. The Bone has good jocks, but a playlist filled to the brim with lame dinosaur rock. Live 105 has good stationality, but is too pop/rock oriented for my liking.

The Bay Area needs a good hard rock station!
