If approved, it will greatly improve their coverage in North County, where reception of 93.3 has always been less than great.

I don't think KGB/101.5 would be allowed to move to La Jolla (Mt. Soledad), because K-LOVE/102.1 is already there. I don't believe you can have two full-power FM stations on the same mountain less than four channels apart. And you can't slide KGB to 101.3 on Soledad because they'd be short-spaced with KFBG/100.7 (also on Mt. Soledad) and would interfere with KATY/101.3 in Idyllwild about 90 miles away. What Iheart should do is file for KGB to move to La Jolla as well.

They have? Nothing is on file
I completely forgot about K love 102.1 but something has to be done for KGB in the North County, 97.3 has boosters why not my favorite classic rock station.

I believe XHMORE/98.9 is on Cerro Colorado, not Mount San Antonio. Also down in Tijuana on Mount San Anotnio with XHMORE 98.9 and XHOCL 99.3.
I don't think so. KGB/101.5 and KLVJ 102.1 transmit from different locations many miles apart. 101.5's tower is in Oak Park. 102.1 is on Mt. Soledad, on other side of the city. When 102.1 moved to Soledad around 2008, that effectively prevented 101.5 from moving to Soledad.KGB 101.5 and KLVJ 102.1 are already short spaced. I think it's possible to put 101.5 and 102.1 in the same area.

I don't think so. I'm almost certain full-power Class B stations (like 101.5 and 102.1) need to be at least four channels apart if they're on the same tower or mountain. That's the case everywhere in California. If I'm wrong, give me a real-world example..
Technical they both can be transmitting at the same tower.
Yes, KHTS filed to move to Soledad. Just saw it on FCCInfo.com. 29kw ERP, 650 ft HAAT. And they'd be on the KFMB-TV tower. That mast is called the quadzilla because it already has four other FM's on it. Didn't think they had room left for another. Unless they're going to diplex with an existing antenna.so no ones answered yet... they have filed something? I looked and didnt see anything.

Great info, Mr. Fybush. I didn't know about those rules. Still, wouldn't two Class B's on the *same* tower or mountain have to be at least four channels apart? In your L.A. example 107.1 is a Class A many miles from (and hundreds of feet below) 107.5 on Mt. Wilson.almost all the class As in the LA basin are significantly short to their second-adjacent class B neighbors, with 107.1 Arcadia/107.5 LA probably the closest pair.n this case, since 102.1 (KUDE-FM, then) and 101.5 were licensed and operating short-spaced in 1964, they have no requirement to protect each other. That's the only way 102.1 got to Soledad in the first place.

Well it be non directional? Because KSSX 95.7 is directional and has a bad signal south of the 94 freeway where most of there listeners are.
