Channel 955's Beau Will Be Let Go!

"I was informed today that my contract will not be renewed. As of June 24th, I am a free agent. I was also informed in the meeting by the GM and PD that this was not a performance based issue as I've been a top-two performer in demo for the past eight years. It has been a great run at Channel-955."

This was taken straight from his facebook fanpage.... I am pissed that channel 955 would do this! This will hurt them badly.

1.Beau has been in Detroit radio for YEARS!
2.He consistently brings great topics to have listeners call in about.

I mean come on 9-5-5... You got rid of Buda, which was a good idea by the way... But you cannot get rid of Beau. The channel 955 lineup is perfect right now. Yes we need a replacement for Buda, but ICE is a good replacement until the perfect replacement DJ is found.

I don't know, but I have to much thoughts going on now... Right now Stick is on the air instead of beau. I have no idea if Beau is leaving now or June 24th. But I guess it makes sense for him to use all his vacation time if he knows he is not being resigned.

Friday was his last day on air.
 
I think it's ****ed up how they let Beau go like that......he was actually someone worth listening to on afternoon drive. I honestly wanna see who they gonna get to replace him, because if this move blows up in their face, it only gives AMP Radio more opportunities to lick their chops and pull in ratings......

As far as nights go, keep ICE. She's very good at that time slot....
 
Okay guys... I just read this online. I am not sure if its true but it does make sense.

Nick Craig will be moving up to the 3-7 PM time slot replacing Beau. Joe Rosati will be moving from The Beat OF Detroit(WDTW) to do Middays from 10-3 on Channel 955.

I have never listened to Joe Rosati so I can't say anything about him just yet. But this makes sense to me because Joe Rosati would usually be on air 2-6 PM but today he isn't on-air. I went to listen to him about 30 minutes ago and thats how I found out.

Unless Joe is something Wayyy better then Beau then it doesn't make much sense to make this move!! Can someone tell me if Joe is any good?

I've heard The Joe Show on 106-7 before. He's pretty good and has a respectable audience, but I don't think he fits with the format 9-5-5 got going. I seriously don't think Nick Craig should move to afternoons, but then again if it pulls in ratings, then I got nothing to complain about, right?

I'm assuming this move will take place on June 24 at the latest, but don't be surprised if it happens earlier than the mentioned date.
 
Matt, I am just confused with what Beau posted...

To me it sounds like June 24 will be his last day on air because he said he is a FA starting then. But it could be he is only the music director/APD until June 24th. But I am still trying to attain info.

If not then Joe should be taking over duties on air from 10-2 starting soon. Maybe Joe just had to learn some new controls in the 955 studio so he is taking the week to do so.
 
It took me a minute to figure it out too.....based on what Beau posted on Facebook, I'm assuming that his role as Asst. Program Director and Music Director will continue until then, but I'll have to wait and see what he'll post next to fully get what he meant by that.

Till then, all signs indicate that Joe will be there next week at the earliest (from what I assume)
 
Beau was a great fit for afternoons! I'm gonna miss him. Maybe 98.7 AMP Radio might pick him up.

That would SUCK for 955... That would hurt them extremely in ratings...

But who would 987 get rid of??

I have your answer; BUCK HEAD! If Dom Theodore was smart and wanted to finally stick it to Clear Channel, he'd can Buck Head almost immediately and sign Beau in a heartbeat.
 
Verified By ICE on Channel 955... Nick craig is doing 3-7 pm and Joe Rosati is doing 10-2!

Also ICE says that she MAY get to be the permanent night host on 955... I was asking her a few questions on ustream last night :) Tune in 7-11, she said she is gonna do it daily. Also its cool to see everything behind the scenes and how they edit the audio to put it on air. If they sounded weird they just go back and edit everything.
