I just read an article online concerning the Fox News exclusivity deal on XM... but the part that drew my attention was that the Fox News Channel TV simulcast was ranked as the third most listened to channel on XM. Does anyone know of a site that will have all the other channels listed in a ratings style fashion like arbitron? Would be curious to see where they all rank on average daily listenership...<P ID="signature">______________

Satellite radio doesn't have ratings. Each company conducts various phone/email surveys, as well as retailer surveys, and throws in other statistics such as website hits and search terms to determine what channels are the most popular. Due to the competition, this information isn't published.
 
It was on the reuters wire. Looked like it was contributed to a lot of people...could have originally been from a CNN article.

im sure they can tell how many receivers out there are listening to a channel. im sure they keep close tabs on that.

Nope! Satellite radio (both XM and Sirius) are "one-way" transmissions, and the receivers do not transmit any information back to the companies. They have no way of telling what receivers are tuned into.
