CHAPPAQUIDICK v. SUPREME COURT CHOICE

Will someone tell old timer Howie Carr that Chappaquidick is OLD news. Thirty-six years old to be exact.

For two days Carr has lead off with Ted Kennedy and Cappaquidick as Jay Severin sets up to talk about the issues of the day.

Fortunately, Severin's music is a long intro; long enough to hear what Howie has up for the day and short enough not to miss the start of Jay's show.

If WRKO's PD can't get Howie out of his time warp perhaps, it is time to replace this old timer.

As someone who used to summer on the Vineyard and live in Edgartown, I remember it like it was yesterday. I also remember it as a severe example of non justice.
It should be put to bed. I would like to see the truth of what happened come out
One can only hope. It was pretty crazy that summer after "teddy's car wash".
 
I agree. People have been married and divorced and married and divorced again since Chappaquidick. How many Presidents ago was this? How many Call letters has Channel 7 had since then?
This even predates Kiss108, I believe.

However wrong it may or may have not been, this is old news.

I'm no fan of Howie, but I'm guessing every year he wants to remind everyone that someone drove drunk awhile back, drove off a bridge that resulted in the death of a woman. And the whole thing was passed aside because of his family.
 
Perhaps, Carr is exhibiting the first signs of dementia if he can't remember he is repeating himself.

I am no fan of Teddy but unless you can present something new I am going to turn off WRKO and tune to WTKK 96.9 and see what Jay Severin has to say or Ed Shultz, the Rush sound alike, on Air America.

Howie is not aging well.

No, you won't. You love complaining about WRKO too much.

And how often does Howie bring up George W. Bush's historical with drinking?
I do believe that there were several driving mishaps that Daddy helped cover up or minimize years ago.

Both are old news, but if Howie paints one, why not the other? The usual selective memory of a typical talkshow host?

I don't know how often, or if he even does, because I used to listen to him here and there, but now I don't at all. And if he does bring up W's history, I say good! He is another one who got away with a bunch of stuff because his blood line. A classic Family Guy episode when the guy in the wheelchair (Joe?) was in the Special Olympics, Peter was giving him a pep talk about quitting, and he (Peter) started to give a speech that was like "Did George W give up when he drove his businesses into the ground? NO Did George W give up when he was arrested with cocaine? NO...and a bunch of other stuff, it was hilarious.
 
Still think it just another indication that Howie Carr is too old to be doing a daily talk show. The stress is showing. Next thing you know he will think the accelerator is the brake on his Beemer or Lexus.

Time to send Howie to the National Talk Show Hosts Rest Home where he can babble on to his heart's ( assuming he has one ) content.

Yes, I know. George W. Bush never personally killed anybody through negligence. Although with all of those drunk driving arrests, he very well could have.

All I am saying is that Carr, like most talk show hosts on the right or the left, tend to demonize their political opponents while ignoring the similar faults of their allies. I really hate most commercial talk radio for this reason.

Talk show hosts "terms" are limited by the expiration/renewal of
their contract (unless they get caught at something really illegal).

The statute of limitations for DUI is 7 years.

The term of Supreme Court Justices is life or until they resign.

There is no statute of limitations for murder.

So, if a talk show host had a DUI eight years back it would be
history, not news.

But if a talk show host (or anyone) murdered somebody, maybe
20-years ago and they were one day prosecuted it would be news.

But what if a one-time talk show host who had murdered somebody
became a Supreme Court Justice and evidence surfaced that made
it possible to prosecute....

Would THAT be news?

Could His Holiness (or whateverinhell we call 'em these days)
still sit on the court and decide cases until adjudicated?
And what if, like certain other celebrities, he were found
"not guilty" but lost a civil suit for wrongful death,
would that not be news? Would it be fair game for talk shows?
Might he still sit on the court and thumb his nose at public
opinion?

Who would own the movie rights?

What kind of immunity from arrest exists for U.S. Senators and/
or Congresspersons?

Sounds like I have a strong basis here to break into Boston
radio as a talker!

Do you have anything actually useful to contribute aside from your Rupert Pupkin-esque obsession with Howie Carr?
