I mostly remember Charles Napier for his voice as Duke Phillips on the animated series "The Critic". His performance on that show was very entertaining. He will definitely be missed.
Sorry to hear this. Before he went out to Hollywood, and right after he left college, he did a stint as a radio announcer on WBBF in Rochester, NY and is still remenbered fondly in the Rochester area.
Mr. Napier was a Louisville native...I used to see him downtown when he was in the city visiting relatives. I'll remember him from "The Blues Brothers" (1980), my all-time favorite comedy. RIP, Chuck..
Very sad to hear that. I have always liked him, ever since making his acquaintance as a little tyke
when he was traveling with a band of space hippies seeking the Planet Eden.

I remember that Star Trek episode. I also just saw Napier being one of Hannibal Lecter's victims in "Silence of the Lambs" (he was playing a prison guard) when AMC had a 20th anniversary showing of that movie a couple weeks back, and I recall his role as the country band leader who wanted the Blues Brothers' hides after they stole his band's gig and seemed to spend the whole night singing the theme from "Rawhide." He will be missed.
