Characters associated with specific soundtrack instruments

Been watching Cannon on ME-TV, and noticed the frequent use of a solo tuba in transitional musical cues. This is obviously a nod to the hefty star's ample girth and basso voice.

Can you think of any other classic characters who were associated on the soundtrack with a specific musical instrument or instruments?

A saxophone was used frequently for the animated cartoons featuring the Pink Panther.

An example of this might be the music that used to accompany Mr. Snuffleupagus in old '70s episodes of 'Sesame Street'. It was unusual because no other character had accompanying music.

...I seem to recall a running visual/aural gag on The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin, in which Reggie's never-shown mother-in-law would be mentioned, Reggie would start grinning, and a vertical cut to film of a hippopotamus trotting along on some African territory would be accompanied with a short bassoon cue...

I was going to say I wasn't sure if I could think of any particular instruments or even musical themes connected with a character, but I can name one. That kind of train-like theme used for the trolley in Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, almost a kind of boogie-woogie variation if you stretch your imagination.

There was also a 'tinkling piano' riff whenever Mr. McFeeley, the mailman, arrived with a 'Speedy Delivery!'(Dee-DEE-Dee, Dee-DEE-Dee!)
