Characters guesting on other shows

There were times that jokes were made about having to say that someone's show was on another network. Once on Match Game Gene Rayburn mentioned Richard Dawson hosting Family Feud on another network but they couldn't mention it, and Dawson said "It's as easy to remember as ABC." There was also a time that Gallagher (Mr. Sledge-O-Matic) was on Letterman (I think) wearing a t-shirt for Showtime, who carried his specials at the time, and it was blanked out.
I remember a Tonight Show bit, in which Ed McMahon was talking with Garry Shandling, who was guest-hosting that evening. Shandling said something about his Showtime series, to which McMahon said "I don't get Showtime," to which Shandling responded, "That's okay, I don't get Star Search."

The Sophia Petrillo character from The Golden Girls appeared on Empty Nest a few times. Dr. Harry Weston and a couple others from Empty Nest appeared in a couple episodes of The Golden Girls.

I think someone from Empty Nest appeared on another NBC sitcom, Nurses(?), as part of a nightful of crossovers, since GG, EN and Nurses were all set in Miami.

In a 1994 episode of FOX's The Simpsons "Fear of Flying", Homer must find a new bar after being barred from his own, "Moe's". One of the bars he visits is a "Cheers" like bar, with Sam, Carla, Norm, Cliff, Woody, and Frasier all seen. Ted Danson, Rhea Perlman, George Wendt, Woody Harrelson, and John Ratzenberger voice their characters from NBC's Cheers. (Frasier does not speak; Kelsey Grammer already the voice of "Sideshow Bob" on The Simpsons.) Homer initially likes the bar, but runs away when Norm turns violent after Woody cuts him off. Diane and Rebecca are mentioned but not seen.

bradys partridges

As a girl who was 10 years old in 1971, I can tell you unequivocably that the Bradys and the Partridges never met in TV land. However, there was at least one promo photography shoot where the two casts met, because I remember the pictures in either Tiger Beat or 16. Those are probably the photos that you saw.
There was a funny blink-and-you-miss-it reference to The Partridge Family in The Brady Bunch Movie (the one with Shelley Long and Gary Cole).

More recently, wasn't there a crossover episode between Ally McBeal and Boston Legal?

Weren't there some TV actors whose heads popped out of windows when Batman and Robin were climbing the walls of skyscrapers?

On a related note, in The Flintstones episode "Sheriff for a Day," Fred and Barney were facing down train robbers in an Old West town when the Cartrocks came to the rescue. Wilma and Betty told them they watch them on TV, and the Cartrocks said to the women that they also watch The Flintstones! It was the most surrealistic episode of the entire series. As a little girl I didn't care for the episode and didn't "get" it, but now I think "Sheriff" is hilarious.

A whole bunch of them...It was kind of the hot TV guest star gig for a couple years.

Here are all 14 window cameos. The first was Jerry Lewis, while the last was Carpet King. The oft-told story is that the show's producer, W:illiam Dozier, who was incredibly cheap, gave the cameo to a carpet dealer in lieu of payment:

As far as the Flintstones, Bewitched characters Darrin and Samantha "appeared" on the show.
