Charese Fruge Gives Up PD Position at Energy 103.7

Credit where credit is due - from 3/30/12:

Wait a minute here...Charese Fruge have never programmed a Top-40 station, only
HOT AC and didn't she just hire an APD from Reno and SF? I'm gonna go out of a
limb here and say CBS Top-40 VP Michael Martin who doesn't get along with her
from LA days at KYSR is gonna pop her or get Greg Strasell or Charlie Quinn to do
it. They are gonna send her back to Vegas. Then they will bring in one of Weatherly's
boys or Martins and start rockin.

Yeah, Sophie failed but she got some big award for being radio woman of the year and Bob The GM gushed about her wonderful contributions to CBS San Diego.

It has to be pure dumb luck that management there has not totally screwed up KYXY or do they just devote their cluelessness to 103.7?

Ouch! That's not really deserved in my opinion. I liked Sophie, but the playlist became too limited. It got stale very quickly. There's not enough new Hot AC coming out these days. The 90's and early 2000's were much more Hot AC friendly and Sophie was playing a lot of those throwbacks in the beginning of its existence (Lenny Kravitz, Alanis Morrisette, Jewel, Goo Goo Dolls, etc.) but after PPM came around Sophie's playlist got very tight repetitive, and boring.

"playlist became too limited"

"stale very quickly"

"repetitive, and boring"

Hmmm, smells like a failed format, did I miss something?

Other than the Art Astor's stations, I don't think any signal in San Diego has changed formats so often as 103.7, but they just keep patting each other on the back over there as KYXY keeps them alive.
