ChargeRadio.com to flip October 13

There is a saying that all good things must come to an end. And unfortunately, as of October 13, 2009, the end has come for ChargeRadio.com – at least for now.

However, the ChargeRadio.com team is not going away. We invite you to check out our other radio website, Grey FM, where you can hear many of the same artists you’ve heard on ChargeRadio.com.

Starting October 13, Grey FM will offer two different music stations:

Grey FM Downtown: The original Grey FM station, spinning a unique mix of pop, rock, and alternative music from artists like Anberlin, Britt Nicole, Carolina Liar, Daughtry, Green Day, Hawk Nelson, Lifehouse, Linkin Park, Mat Kearney, Newsboys, Quietdrive, Rihanna, Sister Hazel, Skillet, The Fray, U2, Vertical Horizon, and many more!

Grey FM Heartland: A brand new station playing a unique mix of country, contemporary Christian, and homespun pop from artists like Alan Jackson, Carrie Underwood, Casting Crowns, MercyMe, NeedToBreathe, Rascal Flatts, Steven Curtis Chapman, Taylor Swift, Third Day, Tim McGraw, and more!

While our sound may be changing, we are still driven with the mission to share the love of Jesus and to speak a positive word into the lives of our listeners. Grey FM allows us to reach out to an entirely new audience, and in so doing, touch the lives of others for Christ.

If you find that you’re still craving the positive hit sound that ChargeRadio.com provided, we encourage you to check out one of the following stations:

<a href="http://www.way.fm/">WaYfm (Michigan)</a>

<a href="http://www.myfusefm.com/">FUSE FM</a>

<a href="http://97x.fm/">97X.fm</a> – Wisconsin’s Positive Hits

These stations are our co-laborers in bringing an upbeat mix of positive pop, rock, R&B and hip-hop to their communities and to the world. Our hope is that they will continue to prosper, even as we’ve felt led to reach a different audience.

Again, thank you for your support of ChargeRadio.com for the last 5+ years. Please be in prayer for us as we embark in this new direction. Our new e-mail addresses will be on the Grey FM website, so stay in touch with us.

And, welcome to the future!

Blessings,

The ChargeRadio.com / Grey FM Team

You can add Positive Hit Radio "The Current" from Virginia to the list as well: http://www.currentfm.com/

Wow, all this talk about "positive" hit radio. It sure tickles the ears of our listeners, doesn't it. Doesn't offend anyone.

I looked through the concordance in the back of my Holy Bible. The word "positive" seems to be missing. Shall I look for the term "family-friendly" as well?

Would most of the artists we play describe their music as "positive" or "family-friendly"?

Then why do WE do it?

They would if they want to get airplay on a "positive" or "family friendly" station. They might throw "Christian" in there too.

Yep ... not mentioning Christ is a bit annoying, but it is better than using his name vainly.

I think the concept of putting secular in the mix if the lyrics expound scriptural principles and the artists don't have bad lifestyle choices is sound enough. I wouldn't go quite as far in the artist list, though. Some of those artists mix in profanity and really bad theology in some of their songs. The artists could work if the lyrics were screened prior to airplay, but the temptation to just play all of their current hits would be immense. Too much compromise would turn positive to negative, and family friendly to enemy of the family really fast.

This was the first hour on Grey FM Heartland:

Casting Crowns - Who Am I
Craig Morgan - That's What I Love About Sunday
33Miles - Jesus Calling
Carrie Underwood - Wasted
Chris Tomlin - Holy is the Lord
Rascal Flatts - Why
Darius Rucker - It Won't Be Like This for Long
