NEWPORT — Charges of simple assault and disorderly conduct against Thomas Patrick Little, a news anchor for Eyewitness News This Morning on WPRI and FOX Providence and Eyewitness News at Noon, were dismissed by Newport police on Thursday, according to online court records and a District Court clerk.
A reason for the dismissal is not listed in online court records and a court clerk told The Daily News on Thursday that she did not know why the charges were dropped. A reason for the dismissal was not immediately available from Newport police on Thursday.

“The situation involving our employee was unfortunate and we are satisfied with its resolution,” the statement says. Little is quoted in the WPRI article: “I want to apologize to my colleagues and our viewers for the attention this incident brought to our station. I cooperated fully with the investigation and am pleased that it has been resolved.”
