He was let go yetserday from his afternoon-drive show; weekenders are filling-in until a replacement is found.

Look at the October ratings. They have more problems than just their afternoon show. ::)

I think our rural AM news/talk station had higher ratings. ;)

Charlee and Boomer had the worst numbers on the station. He bragged all along about his ratings and how great they were. He was in 26 place! It was said super program director Tash Jackson. (no relation to Alan) was fed up with Charlees constant bitching despite having some really good stuff to giveaway everyday.

When Dave, Susan and Catfish were at the station they were in 5th place. The GM there is a total nut case.

Hey, Sky queen, his name I'd TOSH Jackson and he is far from "super." You based all your ratings knowledge on one trend? Clown. Boomer and I had the ONLY ratings on the Wolf for a YEAR. Despite a terrible consultant and your "super" Program Director who seemed to spend every waking and baking moment plotting how to sound exactly like the competition! It was the most negative environment in which I have ever worked. As for giveaways, yes, they were dismal. All the great stuff went to the middays (the world's worst promotions director's favorite). And, concerning the ratings, I never bragged about them... THEY did. You mentioned Dave, Susan, and Catfish, but you did not mention the Program Director that put them on top, Bob McNeill who all were fired as I was, WITHOUT CAUSE. You also did not mention that we had no morning show for SIX MONTHS. One talent, no matter how well liked, can save an entire station.

Snappy comeback there. Clever. Good sentence structure, too. I think you really told him, Charlee.

" It was the most negative environment in which I have ever worked."
You don't exactly have a reputation as being the easiest person in the world to work with, either, Charlee........ ;)

I've heard enough to know I would probably never work there. :(

Thanks, David. I did mean to write "is TOSH Jackson," instead of "I'd TOSH Jackson," but I was a little heated at the time. As for your comment, Kestrel, the only people who have ever thought I was not easy to work with are the lazy ones who want an easy job and continue to get in the way of those of us who want to win. I love what I do and love making people happy, but there are always those who would rather talk about winning people, instead of stepping up and doing what it takes to win for themselves.

:)
Okay, Charlee. We can't ask Knox; he's dead. And whatever happened to Barney Farr?

It's refreshing to see a guy who's been fired speak his mind instead of the usual gutless ass-kissing, i.e. '...I wanna thank all the good people at KXXX for the great years of awesome work experience especially my GM and PD, who really made the right decision and gave me this super opportunity to seek out my next awesome radio scenario...blah blah blah...' I don't know you, Charlee, but for this alone, you have my respect. And good luck finding your next gig.

KXXX, the former X-100 in San Francisco? What does X-100 Have to do with Charlee Simons?

I think he was complimenting Charlee on speaking his mind. i assume Manny Michaels is a former employee of KXXX?

Sorry for the confusion...I was using "KXXX" as a set of generic calls. Didn't make the connection with the real KXXX.

It is refreshing! Like you both, I'm a straight shooter. If management doesn't like it, too bad.

When I flew in for the sit down at this engineering gig, I told them if they want a butt kissing yes man, then I'm not the one for the job. OK, maybe I didn't say it in those exact words. ;) I promised I would take their operation to the next level, which I have. I am thankful to have a good job. Maybe it's good I went on the beach before the economy tanked.

Many stations are unlistenable in Sacto, but this one I never go to. Would someone please tell me when it's not recordscratch any more? 8)
