CHARLES GOYETTE REPLACED BY DONALD IMUS

ponderosaAZ said:
maybe air america and nova-m could syndicate some "centerist" hosts like goyette to reach the independents, goyette bills himself on his web site as "america's most independent talk show host"

...so independent that he publicly burns his bridges with the Nova M brass before he crosses them? I doubt that I'll even hear Goyette call in to Jeff Farias anytime soon...

Unbelievable. No more Goyette=no more KFNX, no one will listen to that pathetic little station anymore.

Honestly, what a hack station.

Replacing Goyette with that crank, old insane boring Imus....

What a mistake this is.

Look for KFNX to be replaced by another christian or oldies station within two months is my prediction.

AM radio sucks in Phoenix

Why would KFNX be replaced with oldies or Christian music? Goyette's a good guy, but the station is doing plenty of business. They own the station... why would they flip it?

Saw Imus on RFD this morning... riveting stuff.

there is nothing wrong with syndicating a variety of talent of different political perspectives on the same network. Several networks who have tried otherwise have had major problems:
Salem (stocks way down), Air America (bankrupt), FOX (was bankrupt). it doesn't work to be all agenda driven, all the time.

I agree with KJCB, KFNX is selling nearly all of it's block airtime, so as long as they are selling these spaces they will remain in business.

They even have one or two decent block purchased shows on Sunday nights.

I listened to the aircheck on the site. Some of the calls sounded canned, but it sounded good.

KFNX screwed the pooch by letting the big guy go.

Some bunch of idiots to cut a local show for a no talent syndicated talk host.

Sorry about the rant, but it's insane.

hey Beave:

Charles Goyette would make an excellent replacement for some of the low rated talent on NOVA-M and Air America

you might go to his web site and watch some of Charles' very articulate, humorous, and authoritative commentary from cable tv

http://charlesgoyette.com

Well it's plain to see who poderosaAZ is. Hey Charles in case you have not seen at least the 12+ Numbers Nova-M is doing quite well for Progressive Talk. 1100 well now they don't even rank, not even your former day part. And nothing like updateing your web site days before your gone from 1100.

What a ridiculous comment trying to FALSELY out me as one of america's greatest broadcasters. It's not funny to the general readers of this board who come here to learn about the biz as radio guys (like myself). You guys over at NOVA-M can't even manage to pull even half a share 12+. If you guys at 1480 KPHX complain about low ratings on KFNX, then why don't you have Ed Schultz on your station? Why don't you file for an increase in power to 22kW day, 5kW critical hours? Compare KPHX to Albuquerque where the spring book came in with 3 shares 12+ on progressive talk 1350, 6 times your 12+ ratings.

KPHX has a 0.6 12+ in the latest trend and should end up higher than that in the full book. Both KPHX and KFNX have decent ad campaigns around town, which seems to be a rarity for AM stations in any market. Unless CC gives you free space and Sean Hannity lives at your house. Or so the billboard says.

KFNX is purely a waste of electricity. All their programs are nothing but paid infomercial programming.
Why would anyone listen to that crap?

Although, about 5 yrs ago they showed some life with live local programming (Bob Mohan, Etc.)
Mike Newcomb was good for a laugh (whatever happened to him?)

But now? fahgetaboutit.

newcomb was with NOVA-M and had his own show and then something went terribly wrong

it is too bad that the turnover of hosts, PD's and managers at these liberal networks is so frequent

can anyone name a liberal host who has been on the air for more than 5 years at the same station or on the same network?

Ray Taliaferro, KGO San Francisco, 31 years.
Steve King & Johnnie Putman, WGN Chicago, 24 years.
Randi Rhodes, WJNO West Palm Beach, 14 years.
Thom Hartmann, Sirius Satellite Radio, 7 years.
Lynn Samuels, Sirius Satellie Radio, 5 years.

...wanna ask any more frickin' stupid questions, Goyette?...
