Charles VanSant - WLW

I was pleased to hear the familiar voice of one Charles VanSant anchoring the news on WLW overnight last night. That's leaps and bounds above the parade of amatuers that have cracked the mic there recently.

He was working on a local 3000 watt FM station in Columbus, Indiana 35 years ago... (WWWY 104.9). The boy's done good for himself.

So he's making a quarter above minimum wage?

He was at WHIO (2nd tour of duty there) until recently. They don't make them any nicer than Charlie. Class act and a pleasure to work with.

I second that. He is a pleasure to work with.

If you ever get a chance to watch the movie "The Killing Streets" you'll hear Charles along with Bob Sweeny on Lite 99.9. Near the beginning Charles does a newscast that relates to the story-line of the movie. Now that's "15-minutes" of fame and glory! And I do agree Charles is a class act.

This is good news and adds some solid talent in the newsroom.

Now if we could just convince them to get some adults on the air for the entertainment portion we would be cooking.
