Charleston ratings question

WXST has been number one or close to it for years. It is not owned by a company that chooses not to let people see its ratings. So why is it not showing now?

I believe Apex is a subscriber.

There also may be something wrong in Nielsens filter that generates the public 12+ releases.

In Columbia, iHeartMedia NewsTalk WVOC switched back to AM from FM. It shows in the 12+. However, the FM (which is now Urban WXBT) is not listed in the publicly released 12+. In fact, it is the only iHeartMedia station in the market to not be listed.

Of course, it could be "under the line," but that would be difficult to believe.

The 12+ for Charleston on radio-online does show WXST leading the market http://ratings.****************/cgi-bin/rol.exe/arb231

I'm not sure, but I think that's the site I go to. I'm not going to try at home.

But last week they didn't show it.

As for WXBT, it's the AM that's not listed, not the FM. If the FM is still simulcasting, the site I go to doesn't list simulcast partners separately. If it's showing WXBT-AM as not listed, that's a mistake that should be corrected.

There is no WXBT AM any more. 560 AM is now back to WVOC.

WVOC-FM (100.1) is now Urban WXBT-FM. It is not included in the 12+ listings.

These are Columbia stations, for those unfamiliar.

I went to my usual ratings site which I think is the one linked to above. They have posted new ratings since I was there last, and WXST is listed, and so is its 12+ rating for the previous period for which it wasn't listed before. Curious.

You're correct, WXST wan't listed at first but has now been corrected. Speaking of Apex, when are they going to expand 99.3 THE BOX and put more effort into it? Once you past Northwoods Mall and Ashley Phosphate Rd the signal is toast. Huge chunk of the metro in Ladson, Goose Creek, Summerville and Moncks Corner is pure static. The station now only has 1 live jock Monday through Friday in afternoon drive and the website hasn't been updated since who knows when. They are now promoting themselves on air as "Charleston's #1 Party Station."

On my radio I can get them in Summerville, but they often have a lot of interference. They are limited with their translator (250 watts is the max they can have). I would simulcast them on 1390, but they flipped to a satellite business talk format just recently. What a come down from what they used to be as Heaven 1390.
