Charleston Ratings

I noticed the former Citadel now Cumulus stations do not have any ratings. Why is that?

Cumulus did not subscribe to Arbitron in the Charleston market, so they are not published.

Well heck why should they subscribe in any market there going to do there own thing anyway so whats the difference.

They don't subscribe in a number of markets. I bet they will not renew their contract in Columbia when it expires. Saga Communications also does not subscribe to Arbitron.

Might they subscribe come the next book? I was thinking it could be when the merger happened.

Cumulus in many markets refuses to subscribe to Arbitron.

Next thing you know Arbitron will be saying Cumulus is not a real broadcasting company.

I think they believe in the old broadcast sales addage, "live by the numbers, die by the numbers." I have a lot of respect for that.

Getting back to the ratings, Would be nice to see the 96.9 The Wolf rating which I think is higher then the rating Kickin 92.5 got. Plus I noticed 96.9 The Wolf is saying on air they are the #1 liked station in Charleston on Facebook.
