Won't say where I got the info (they'd kill me if I even mentioned the name) but Citadel has registered about 20 domains related to 96.9, Wolf, and Charleston.

I say at 6am, Cat Country moves to 96.9 and becomes the Wolf!

Actually, at 7 AM, the former Sunny 96.9 flipped formats and became 96.9 The Wolf. I am unsure of what happened at any of the other stations in the area. For those of you who are interested, here's the format flip from soft rock Sunny 96.9 to country 96.9 The Wolf:

Again, I apologize for the quality of the audio. This was recorded off the former Sunny 96.9's internet stream with a microphone in front of my speakers. Oh, for those of you who were wondering...

Last 5 Songs on Sunny 96.9
5. Brass In Pocket (I'm Special) - The Pretenders
4. How To Save A Life - The Fray
3. H o n k y Cat - Elton John
2. Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic - The Police
1. She's Always A Woman - Billy Joel

First 5 Songs on 96.9 The Wolf:
1. Play Something Country - Brooks & Dunn
2. Callin' Baton Rouge - Garth Brooks
3. Something More - Sugarland
4. Don't Blink - Kenny Chesney
5. My Town - Montgomery Gentry

And there you have it. Hope it helps. Enjoy!

And just think in a few weeks you will be hearing the same stunt telling listeners of 107.5 to tune to the new Wolf 96.9 as Citadel gets ready to make the move to Colatown... Also looks like 95SX is headed in a Hot AC direction leaving APEX as the CHR outlet in Chuk Town... CC1

Already heard Online by Brad Paisley played twice. Once yesturday morning and yesturday afternoon. So how many offices were like why is 96.9 playing country?

When does the 5,000 songs end and we hear commericals on The Wolf? I would say maybe this weekend. Also Citadel is going to change the the Sunny calls WSUY.

I should have known about this sooner than I did. But my motel room was on the wrong side. I didn't pick up this station until Wednesday night around 7.

So what happened to the Sunny staff? Did Citadel cut them all loose?

I think it will end around mid November. Anyone know?

Assuming it's 5,000 songs at (on average) 4:00 a song, that equals out to about 14-15 days of music before commercials/jocks/etc

Mind you, I found it quite funny when the Wolf was playing the leftover spots from Sunny during a 5,000 song commercial free marathon!

The new call is WIWF(wolf). I miss the old WXTC (ecstasy)beautiful format of years ago. But you can not please everyone and it must be hard to sell so I will go back to my MP3 player for my music. :'(

I like the new 96.9 The Wolf, they play a lot of country with their 96 minutes of country music. Overall they are sounding good. Im in the Myrtle Beach area and can listen to this station. Sure we got two country stations in this market Gator 107.9 and K Country 103.1, with Gator being the better one. We can also pull in Eagle 92.9 from Florence. So that gives us four country stations around the Myrtle Beach area.

So hows The Wolf doing in their own market of Charleston? Im sure WEZL is a little scared but not much.

With the changes going on in the Charleston area I dont think the change over from the cat to the wolf will be very long. Anybody heard what they are going to do with 107.5 music format when they move to cola.

Word on the street is either News/Talk, CHR, or Active Rock.

I would assume the only thing waiting for the 107.5 move is the TX equipment in Columbia. Probably by year's end, 107.5 will certainly be in Cola.

Heard while listening to Cat Country 107.5 a promo for listeners to start flipping the dial to sister station 96.9
The Wolf. So I guess its any day now that 107.5 says bye bye to Charleston.

As for The Wolf when are they going to get DJs and a morning show?

I have a feeling that they will not do anything with that until they move 107.5 to Columbia, and we still have not heard here what kind of frmat it will be and hoepfully the Wolf will not be carrying the John Boy and Billy Big Show because that show just does not fit country radio and frankly I find it boring and horribly juvenile.
