My favorite TV personalites from Charleston, South Carolina DMA of the present are:
From WCBD 2 (NBC): Brendan Clark, Carolyn Murray, Josh Marthers, Brad Franko, Octavia Mitchell, Larry Collins, and of course Rob Fowler!
From WCIV 4 (ABC): Dean Stephens, Victoria Hansen, Tom Crawford, John Nugent, Laura Harris.
From WCSC 5 (CBS): Bill Sharpe, Debi Chard, Raphel James, and Bill Walsh (formerly of rival WCIV when it was NBC)
Ironically WCSC produces WTAT 24 (FOX) newscasts.
My favorite past Charleston, South Carolina personalites are:
WUSN/WCBD 2 (NBC formerly ABC): Dan Ashley (now at ABC SF O&O KGO-TV), Tara Lynn (now at WRAL-TV in Raleigh, NC), Brooke Katz (now at Louisville's WHAS-TV), Leslie Lyles (later went to rival WCIV), Terry Casey, and Joey Sovine (now at WINK-TV in Ft. Myers, FL)
WCIV 4 (ABC formerly NBC): Mark McKinney (not to be confused with THE KIDS IN THE HALL/SNL alum), Neville Miller (Sonya Stevens' predecessor, he's now at KIMO in Columbia, MO), Dee Earley Crosby (still in Chucktown after leaving the TV news business), and Dean Swanson, what ever happened to him?
WCSC 5 (CBS): Mike Hiott (retired), Warren Pepper (who was fired after 30 years at WCSC and went for a short time at WCBD), and the late greats Keith Nichols and Charlie Hall (the man who was there when WCSC-TV was born in 1953 and named a street in his memory).
Who's your favorites?
