Charleston TV stations changing sets and graphics

This weekend will be big for the local stations in Charleston. WCIV 4 (ABC) is finally flipping to HD local news, after there have been hints for months that it will happen, with HD bars along the screen during the news. Now they are going HD.

WCSC (CBS) is changing their set and their graphics, in a complete makeover, for the first time in 3 years. They will have the new Raycom graphics. Channel 5 is broadcasting their news from the newsroom over the weekend. They also have added a new traffic reporter in the last couple weeks, Kim Staley (Neyama), who used to do traffic reports on the radio locally.

Now, only WCBD (NBC) will remain as non-HD.

The current LIVE 5 graphics have been used since they went all HD which wasn't that long ago. And are the same graphics used at sister station WMBF News in Myrtle Beach. Just with different color and the WMBF News logo is on the right instead of left how LIVE 5 is.

As for WCBD I wonder when they will go HD, sister station WBTW Myrtle Beach has been HD for a good while now. Im surprised Media General didn't flip WCBD yet to HD. What are they waiting for?

Growing up in Charleston Channel 5 has changed there logo so many times I lost count. Is Debi Chard and Bill Sharp still doing the news together? I wish they would stream live, however 4 does but there newscast is so dull.

Too bad hardly anyone up here in Greenville will change graphics. WYFF and WSPA (basic wretched Media General graphics) have used the same ones for ages. WHNS did update theirs earlier this year.

Im surprised the Live 5 news logo is now red, I liked the blue one. As for the graphics they look good the bottom ticker is easier to read then before.

Have not seen the new ABC 4 graphics, but I could tell the logo is different by seeing the transparent one.

As for Myrtle Beach's WBTW they still look good even if it isn't HD. Has anyone checked out WPDE very noticable changing screen sizes during commericals into newscasts. Its horrible over at 15. WBTW and WMBF look the best, with WBTW having a better news team.
