Charleston: Why isn't WGWG on local cable?

Don't must carry rules mean local cable companies have to carry WGWG? What gives?

maybe they havent asked for it or there may be a dispute

In North Dakota there is a similar situation. Due to buyouts/moves/etc Gray sold KXJB (which was the CBS) to a different owner who back in September resurrected the station (as KRDK) and has a bunch of diginets on it. (CBS is a subchannel on Gray owned NBC) Neither of the main providers (Cable One in Fargo or Midcontinent in Grand Forks) carries the main station (which is a mix of local sports and Cozi). Dish just added KRDK last week. Directv still doesnt have it.

Remember that must-carry/retransmission consent can only be changed during an election period held every three years. Most retrans agreements probably have language about "substantial changes in programming" which IIRC is what doomed WPGA in Perry/Macon when they lost ABC.

As such, it's not until the next must-carry/retransmission consent election period that these stations will be able to seek must-carry.
