Starting today, Charleston's 98.9, WAZS-FM, is changing formats. Last night, the Spanish format (that 980 joined a couple weeks ago) was still on the frequency.
Now, they are stunting, with the call letters WWIK, with an ID after every song. They are continuously playing "Feel Like a Woman" by Shania Twain. There's a few guesses to the format: maybe a third country station? Soft rock? Maybe "Movin"? They dropped to a .6 in the last trend, and think that changing formats will help them. With that poor signal, I don't know what they will do with the frequency.
