Charley Lake Gets KOOL In Phoenix
The industry vet comes over from the PD job at Infinity Adult Hits sister WJMK (104.3 Jack-FM)/Chicago to program Oldies KOOL/Phoenix, and Infinity/Phoenix SVP/Market Manager Mark Steinmetz says, "Charley is a terrific programming manager who knows how to get the most from a talented team. He'll have everyone involved in the process of developing KOOL-FM's potent and compelling air sound and brand image."
Lake's resume also includes the OM post for Infinity's three-station Columbus, OH cluster and a term as National PD for Bartell Broadcasting's CHR/Pop stations in San Diego, Detroit, St. Louis, Milwaukee and Miami. He's also worked on the music-industry side, as a promotion exec for labels including Warner Bros., A&M and Epic.
Lake says, "I will miss the outstanding staff at WJMK and the many friends I've made at Infinity/Chicago, but the opportunity to work with the supertalented lineup at one of America's greatest radio stations is simply irresistible. I can't wait to get started."
At KOOL, Lake replaces Todd Wallace, who exited in May. Middayer Tom Peake has been handling programming duties in the interim.
