Charlie Huero on the air at KOOL

Rumour has it that the infamous Charlie Heuro, who's been heard on great stations like WLUM Milwaukee, Jammin Z90 San Diego, Power 92.3 Phoenix and host of The Old School Show is now holding down promotions at CBS Radio Radio Phoenix, and will acutally be heard on the overnights this week on 94.5 KOOL FM. Glad to see another one of the good guys land on his feet. Gonna be fun hearing Charlie talk up a Monkee's record.

How can it be fun when it's voicetracked?

Even Goddard sounds "sterile" during the (VTed) early afternoon
part of his show.

I guess that depends on your definition of 'fun.'

Some corporate bean-counter is probably having a blast knowing that they've got a guy who's "been heard on great stations" doing the overnight shift for free.

Used to be KOOL paid someone who'd "been heard on great stations" to do that job.

Come to think of it, KOOL used to be a "great station" to be heard on.

Ford, if you plan on attending the KOOL Splish Splash this weekend,
maybe you'd better go as "Chevy"--i.e., incognito. ;)

Since Akbar never shows up at these events, I think I'll go as him
(sans Nurse Jeff, thank you). Anyone have a fez I can borrow?

Sorry, anything by a sixties group is played only on a Lost Oldies Weekend. You'll just have to settle for Charlie Huero talking up an Andrea True Connection record!

"Lost Oldies Weekend" is long-gone. And Andrea True? More like talking up Pat Benatar and Rick Springfield! It's their regular (very recent) programming tweak now-- no longer only TK's-- if anyone else noticed this slight tweak.

Ford-- AMEN to that!

Oldiesfan-- I'll look for a fez so you can "play Doctor", but how about a Shotgun Tom Kelly hat replica when I get back from Los Angeles?

Note to the KOOL voicetracker/automation system...

It's bad form to schedule a :10 voice sweeper over the beginning of
a song that has a talkup of less than a second. ::)

And to make things worse, the following song was a cold segue.
(PD Kris: I'm going to keep hassling you about this until you knock off
the @#$% cold segues!)

BTW, the song which got stepped on was the Contours' Do You Love Me
from (gasp!) 1962. I didn't know KOOL still played anything pre-64.
What's next--a "CBS-FM Doo Wop Weekend"? ;) (Please, no.)

Senor Tuna, you'd have a much better chance with Lumberyard 1440.
Call 480-941-1007 (KSLX/KAZG biz line) and ask for Chuck. Tell him
he can break theme four times each day with My Way. ;D
