just heard Phillies manager Charlie Manuel had a blow-up in his office after the loss to the Mets last night. Manuel was reportedly "chewing out" a radio host. just came across ESPN radio. anyone know who it was?

It was that old attention whore Howard Eskin of WIP. 610's been playing his interview all morning, and you hear Manuel "challenge" Eskin after asking if Manuel ever gets angry (or. something to that effect).
 
Oddly, the headline on ESPN.com to the story via my portable device referred to a blowup with a radio host, but when I read through the whole story, it didn't explain.

But this from NBC 10 does.

"Manuel peppered the radio host with curse words throughout the confrontation, which did not end in his office. Shortly afterward, another altercation broke out in the Phillies’ locker room, where Manuel yelled, “I’ve been growed up. I grew up a long f**king time ago. What’s it to you, anyway?” Locker room staffers ushered an agitated Manuel out of the room...

... and NBC 10 caught it all on tape."

Of course one should add the disclaimer that Eskin moonlights on NBC 10's Sports Final for the sake of disclaimer sake, lol.
 
Almost as funny as "KYW BLOWED it big time today!" "I've been growed up." Undang believable. Ya think the Phils will end up on WIP anytime in this century? Da wheels are already falling off...

A shame Manuel didn't say, "Baseball been berry berry good to me..." That would have been the soundbite of the year.

Sooooooo true, and unfortunately he will attract more listeners for a short while because of this, and his inflated head will just get larger and larger.
 
Funny as hell!!! Not quite Tommy Lasorda funny (when Dave Kingman hit 3 homers in 1 game, and some numb nuts asked Lasorda what he thought) But pretty darn close... Great Baseball/Radio minute..
