Charlie O

The obit say Charlie O'Donnell helped announce the Beatles for KRLA radio in '65 at the Hollywood Bowl and in '66 at Dodger Stadium, but he and the KRLA jocks also were in stage to introduce the Beatles in August of 1964, when KRLA DJ Bob Eubanks first brought the Beatles to the Hollywood Bowl. Not sure why they left out the 1964 summer concert at the Bowl. But Charlie O was there to introduce the Fab Four that year, too.

...on the Hollywood Bowl bootleg I used to have, only Dave Hull and Bob Eubanks are heard in a minutes-long introduction in '64, and most of the KRLA line-up minus O'Donnell are heard introducing one of the '65 shows (the other '65 show that Capitol recorded opens without an introduction). It's the '65 indroduction that Capitol did record that made it to The Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl, the official live LP issued in 1977. Capitol didn't bother recording the Dodger Stadium show...
