Charlie Ray passes

Longtime New Orleans/MS Gulf Coast radio/TV newsman/sales rep Charlie Ray has passed at the age of 79 this past week.

Had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Ray a couple of years ago at a shared remote at an auto dealership 105.9 did with Coast Radio where he worked, we had a wonderful time sharing old New Orleans radio memories. He was truly a gentleman, condolences to family and friends...

I worked with Charlie at 'TIX in the mid 60s. A great guy. Always willing to take some time to help a young, newcomer to the radio station....particularly pronouncing local names in New Orleans.
I saw Charlie many years later at K99 in Biloxi. Hate to see so many of the old pros move on...
