Charlie Tuna Coming to HyLitRadio for Mornings.

On the subject, I cannot find Hy Lit Radio on the list of Philadelphia Radio Stations on the TuneIn Radio app. So I can log in from the website online but not on my portable iTouch. Am I missing something or isn't it available, because I'd like to have it 'portable' like several wannabe Philly oldies internet stations are.

TuneIn puts all the Internet Radio stations underneath the terrestrial ones in their lists. FM, AM, then Internet. In the "Local Radio" section sometimes local Internet stations get moved in and out of the list for some reason. You can search for "Hy Lit" on the app and it does show up.

Sam - I'm still your biggest fan in Western PA - listening at this moment. Charlie is a great talent. Will the same excellent music selection and rotation continue on his show?

Tne news story today on the front page of Radio-Info makes the following announcement:
"HyLitRadio announces the new program with a quote from Charlie Tuna in Tuna-ese: …Calling all my Beats, beards, Buddhist cats, big-time spenders, money lenders, teetotallers, elbow benders, hog callers, home-run hitters, finger poppin’ daddy’s, and cool baby sitters. This is Charlie Tuna! Your ace in the record race. Going up-town, down-town, cross-town. Here, there, everywhere! For all my carrot tops, lollipops, and extremely delicate gum drops. Get ready to wake up and do it to it, with me, Charlie Tuna, for The Sound of Philadelphia."
I never heard Charlie Tuna although his name in top 40 is legendary. I'm assuming the article writer never heard Hy Lit and missed the fact that Charlie Tuna was quoting the Hyski standard greeting & it's not "Tuna-ese" - I'm assuming he has his own 'patter' & is going to do his own thing, not imitate the guy who couldn't be imitated!

I have a few questions about hylitradio. 1-According to the current copyright laws, there must be music tagging for all music played on internet radio stations. I didn't see any music tagging on hylitradio. Why is there no music tagging on hylitradio? 2-Hylitradio is playing original PAMS jingles and talking over some of the original PAMS jingle tracks. Are there no enforceable copyrights for these jingles and tracks or is hylitradio paying some kind of a fee or has some kind of an agreement to use them?

Just googled him. Now I know why I've never heard of him. He's based in LA! It looks like his background is in television and so-called "classic hits" of the 70's. I hope this kind of professional experience will allow him to connect with true oldies and "the sound of philadelphia". Philadelphia is a tough town, especially to folks not from around here.

Still a great morning gig Sam-you're dead on-thanks for trying new ideas.

Sam,
Just wanted to I wanted to let you know that we have Hylitradio.com playing in our office and everyone is really enjoying it. We have one guy in his 30's 2 in their 40's 1 in his 50's and I am in my 60's. All of us are tired of listening to traditional radio and we really enjoy your programming especially in the morning with locsl traffic news and weather and Charlie Tuna. Thaks again for doing such a great job!
