Looks like 6+ Channel 96.1 has finally overtaken Kiss 95.1 who has established a downward trend (listening to both stations, it's no surprise Kiss is #2...Channel is just so much better, I see them doing even better next month).
The musical trainwreck known as K-104.7 took a lead over Lite 102.9, even though Lite did better at Christmas
Nice book for The End
The Link appears to be on a downward trend, as well. I'm thinking they need to try something new.

Of all of this, I say "congrats" to Channel 96.1. They certainly deserve it - sound is top notch.

Thoughts?

Since Channel primarily consists a mainstream tyke feel CHR station, perhaps Kiss should take the rhythmatic lean (e.g B96 in Chicago)?!? Too bad Kiss is falling short. I think the arrival Ace & TJ really helped Channel and Kiss just failed to respond.

Kiss 95.1 constantly has songs in power rotation that aren't in power anywhere else, and songs that should be in power (like It Will Rain) are only getting 9 spins a week

I don't think it's surprising that if you don't follow the national CHR chart, your ratings are going to nosedive

They are doing the same thing with "We Found Love"...

Kiss is a big exception for CBS, whose CHR stations are typically rhythmic leaning - when Channel got Ace & TJ and immediately switched to a mainstream CHR playlist including new rock/adult songs in addition to gold/recurrent pop/rock, that really took the wind out of Kiss' sails. Channel sounds a lot like them musically, as far as focus goes (but better), and has superior talent and presentation - they're going to have to do something. They have made very big improvements in a small amount of time. I doubt Kiss will go to a rhythmic leaning sound, with WPEG in the building - that may be why their sound is exceptional compared to their sister CHR's.
