Charlotte Ratings April 2026

WEND doesn’t have many currents in rotation. Most of their playlist is 90s and early 2000s.Their core audience is millennials and younger Gen X.
I was watching the American Music Awards and there are several categories with new rock.

So does this mean those artists aren't being heard on "radio" in Charlotte? The Planet has also backed off of the new stuff, and Greensboro also treats hard rock as a classics-based format.

You can look at their recently played songs and see for yourself

WEND played “Back to Friends”. No songs in rotation right now. WNKS and WHQC both have “Homewrecker” in rotation currently.
I was under the impression CHR was avoiding rock.

Twenty-One Pilots was nominated in the category and I hear CHR accepts them.

Geese, Sleep Token and Gigi Perez were also nominated, and these songs.

Noah Kahan – "The Great Divide"
Linkin Park – "Up From the Bottom"
Sublime – "Ensenada"
Tame Impala – "Dracula"

I know Linkin Park and Sublime, but I have no idea who those other people are.

WFAE is tied for #1 with WLKO, benefiting from it being an election year.

Radio One doesn’t have any stations in the top 10. WBT is highest at #12.

WNKS is Beasley’s highest rated station at #4. Can’t remember the last time I saw that. I’m sure it’s partially because of Mix losing half of their coverage area.

WKKT is winning the country battle at #3, with WSOC at #8. Graham B and Sarah Lee have swapped places, with Graham in AMD and Sarah now in middays on 96.9.

The Radio Insight page above hasn’t published the updated ratings yet. I don’t know why they can’t post on time like all the other sites, but maybe it’ll be updated by the time you’re reading this.
It’s not that it’s an election year.
It’s that WBT is pure garbage from morning to night.
Their downfall is 1,000 percent self-inflicted.

News/Talk always over performs during national elections. Go back to 2022 and WBT was #1 during prime. Charlotte is getting bluer everyday, and this is a Democratic year so it’s expected for WFAE to increase. I’m sure the Democrats will start screwing up again at some point and it will benefit WBT. I don’t agree with most of the WBT hosts, but I wouldn’t call it garbage. There are a couple of decent hosts.
