"Old School" seems to be doing really well for some reason. Did they go back to old school or something?

What happened to rock?

Whatever WLNK did, it's working.

105.3 is now "105.3 R&B" and is a Adult R&B station. They are giving V101.9 a run for their money. V101.9 has been the powerhouse Adult R&B station for years and now 105.3 has dethroned them.

WOSF had a good month. They haven’t “dethroned” WBAV. WOSF has never consistently beaten WBAV. They may win a month or 2, but WBAV always quickly ends up back on top.

You also have to realize that the 6+ numbers don’t really matter. It’s the money demos, and WBAV is stronger in the ones that matter. WBAV skews younger, and all across the country those younger stations have been down in the 6+ numbers, especially since COVID. There are a lot of reasons for that such as working from home, shorter attention spans and steaming services gaining popularity.

For example, the last time I saw the numbers were summer/fall of last year. WPEG and WNKS were top 3 18-34. I had them run 18+ and they were like 12th and 14th, a big drop. The reality is the older demos listen to the radio much more consistently and that shows up in the overall numbers. The 25-54, 18-49 and 18-34 numbers are what matter to advertisers, though.

WOSF is also syndicated in mornings, afternoons and evenings. Not a lot of local control over those numbers.
