I went to my usual rating site yesterday and even for the markets that have monthly numbers, they're saying Spring 2019. Is that a mistake?

I've never seen them show "Spring" since they started with monthly numbers, and these are the same numbers as above.

Yes, it's an error if in the 48 PPM markets. There are 13 individual ratings books, one for each 28 week period in the year.

There are "Spring" books in diary markets through this year. Starting in July, the diary markets become monthly issued rolling averages.

There are no multi-book releases by Nielsen in PPM markets.

Question for the locals. It has been a couple years since I regularly traveled to Charlotte for business. I don't see "The Ride" 95.7 anywhere in the ratings. I realize they are licensed to Hickory, but they have such a monster signal and with the classic rock format I would think they should get a 1 or 2 in the beauty pageant numbers, anyway. DO they have no impact at all in the market?

Thanks so much. I miss Charlotte and all the great people I met there. Don't miss it too much in August, however.

WXRC does not participate in the ratings numbers. Otherwise they would certainly score something.

Steve.

Thanks, Steve. Guess that makes sense.

What makes less sense is when a classical station loses 50% of their ratings from book to book, like WDAV. Short of a tower issue, one would think that the classical ratings would be small, sure, but very steady. Those are some pretty dedicated listeners under normal circumstances. My guess is that it is such a small sample size that one classical fanatic being dropped from the pool skewed the numbers.
