Wow - WBT is seeing ratings I haven’t seen in ages.
WHQC now getting ratings below 92.7, 100.9. Would love to know where The Drive would fit in here. I know when their 6+ numbers were available they got around a 3-4 share.
Despite K-104.7’s decline, I don’t think they’ll change anything right now with Christmas coming up.

When looking at the decline for WKQC, the first instinct is to assume that a lot of the 35-54 is currently listening to WLKO instead. While that certainly looks like it's the case, is it possible that they're also losing some of the younger listeners to the Country stations given country music's increased popularity among young women? Then again, I guess you can say the same for the CHR/Pop stations.
Also, since I'm not familiar with the market, which station is The Drive and what is its format?
WXRC (95.7); classic hits.
Not my experience. WKQC still seems to play a lot of songs that seem too loud for AC.
Depends on if you are speaking of the AC of today or the AC of yesterday. Times change.
"Fight for Your Right" by The Beastie Boys. That's all anyone needs to say to question whether that even qualifies as AC.
And when Motley Crue shows up on actual classic hits stations, classic hits seems like a better choice as a description.
have a hard time thinking of "Sharp Dressed Man" by ZZ Top as AC. And I was in assisted living! I'm not sure how easy it was to hear in the rest of the lobby, but you'd think a better choice could be made.
The person at the front desk seemed to like the song.
K is not an Adult Contemporary station. They don't play any "contemporary" music. The RDS says their format is "Adult Hits". They basically copied 102.9's format.
I personally think they sound horrible. They're all over the place, the music is poorly selected and they're not playing the hits. I see exactly why they've been trending down all year.

Well, they don't play the music I like, although from what I've heard they've played more of what I like recently.

If The Lake sounds the same, I guess so.
I actually prefer The Lake's current music mix. Bigger hits, and the music actually flows and fits together. I know who their target audience is.
WKQC is playing music from the middle of the charts with low passion scores. When I think of 80s hits, it's not what WKQC is playing. They seem to be having an identity crisis. I don't know why their PD is saying they're a hybrid classic hits/AC station. Those are 2 completely different formats. Their shares were in the 6's and 7's last year, and now they seem to have settled in the 4's. The current strategy is clearly not working. Hopefully we'll see some improvements after the Holiday book.
