I'm not sure if this is customary for all cable companies, however Charter does something that really bothers me. They run EAS tests all the time on all channels which is very loud compared to regular programming. But the thing that really sucks is how they will break in during important weather coverage with the computer giving the warnings. Can't they only do this on channels that don't cover weather and keep that stuff off of channel 4 and others? I'm in Dallas for those of you who didn't know and channel 4 does a good job with their weather coverage. We don't need Charter braking in with a computer and cutting the real coverage. The EAS test tones are definitely loud enough to wake you from a dead sleep.
