It seems those with talent who can draw a decent salary as a result of their skill set and market presence are the most vulnerable. Yeah, Cole isn't listed on the WOKV website. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
I caught Cole on Ch. 4 this past weekend and I always thought his TV appearances prove he could easily anchor. My understanding is they don’t have a supporting sports anchor to Sam. They have been using a field reporter for fill-in who is good but he isn't Cole Pepper. It would make a lot of sense for Cole to wind up at Ch. 4. I hope he does. Cole did a lot of spots for WOKV and I’m sure he helped bring in business. I guess that’s still not good enough.
Where does all this crap stop? I wonder too about the local morning shows in town with 3 personalities and when some bean counter figure they can do with less there too – especially over at the epitome of cheap – Renda Broadcasting. Good luck Cole. I have a strong feeling you have a place in Jax.
