Chattanooga lost a long time radio voice today. Max Hackett, real name was Chester Smith, passed away today. He was a long time voice at WGOW, did print work with a paper for a while as a journalist and was just back on this year in Chattanooga at Brewer Broadcasting.
Good guy, always neat to listen to, calmed down some from years back. But made him a better host I think. Did not argue with everyone on every topic. Seemed like he was finding his voice again.
Hate to seem him go. Have not talked to him in many years on or off the air. Sorry I didn't get a chance to do so.
