Chattanooga on Wikipedia

I was looking at the Arbitron ratings the other day. I have no particular reason to be interested in Chattanooga, but years ago I heard WDEF-FM on an AM station at night. At least I think that's right. But even when I go to the mountains, I only pick up Knoxville and Kingsport area stations, if any, from the state. Most of what I pick up is in North or South Carolina.

Actually, I do have a cousin who lives in a town where two stations have their city of license, but only their parents go there to visit. I see them when they come here, which I hope is next week.

And yet still I follow the market's developments. I was pleased about "The Legend" and it makes no sense what's happening now.

I rmembered reading about WDOD-FM and WDEF-FM in Billboard and I was able to find those articles online. The Wikipedia articles on both stations were more than inadequate, so I added as much as I could.

But while looking at stations related to those, I discovered problems with the articles. I did an Internet search for each station. And NO ARTICLE for WUSY! The market's top station and the ACM station of the year???

While it's nowhere close to fixing all the market's articles, I think what I did is a good start. I want to do Knoxville and Kingsport next, when I have time and the appropriate databases.

You're right.. for some reason, East Tennessee is devoid of most of its radio stations on Wikipedia.. On the TV side, I wrote the articles for WATE-TV, WTVC and WKPT-TV, and had added to the histories of WBIR-TV, WCYB-TV, WJHL-TV, WLOS-TV, and WETP (formerly WSJK-TV).

I have knowledge of the histories of most of the radio stations in Chattanooga, Knoxville and Tri-Cities, but somebody else would have to write the other parts.

I hope you can write these stations' histories I can probably search and find some information online.

I don't remember what Knoxville stations I used to pick up in the car. I know the old WNOX I can sometimes pick up at home at night, and I could pick it up in the mountains. But only that station and WQBB could be heard in my motel room.

From Tri-Cities in my motel room at one time I could pick up WKTP at night and WGOC during the day, and I believe some of the FMs. I changed motels and WRZK is almost like a local station. WXBQ, WTFM and WQUT are fuzzy if I get them at all.
