Chaz & AJ

I have to admit I wasn't big on Chaz and AJ when they first started but I am a fan now. Their show is pretty hilarious, today I heard Ted Koppey from channel 8 singing christmas tunes on their show... pretty funny stuff..

Opinions?

Their show bores me to death. The do the same exact show day after day, week after week, year after year. They have absolutely no creativity at all. They can't even engage listeners in interesting phone calls. The most a listner gets is like one line before being cut off. Megan is a fraud - she isn't even in the studio with them. This show needs to be cancelled.

The whole station as a whole sux. Scartch that. COX Radio as a whole sux. Every music station they own (that I have listened to) no matter what the format is programmed exactly the same - 50 mins of music every hour followed by 10 mins of commercials in a row.
MarcB and RogerAnthony: I'm not speaking in defense of PLR (I'm not a fan) but as long as they're still the #1 station in the New Haven market, they can do that. It's just like any other #1 in the market. They can do the same thing in terms of music and spot breaks, they can even have the worst air talents in the business, but if at the end of the day, they're still #1 in the books, then they can do that "because they could."

Like it or not, that's the way it is. PLR is it until another station does something about it.

I cant disagree with much thats been posted so far. I don't listen to PLR as much as I used to because of its narrowed playlist, but I wouldnt go as far as saying the station sucked. They are simply playing the hand that corporate has dealt them. That being said, I enjoy the jocks...from 10:00 on. I simply do not understand the appeal of Chaz and AJ. Has Ct. morning radio become so bad that this is what passes as entertainment? My biggest complaint, and something that will turn any listener away is the smarmy attitudes of the "host". You always get the feeling that you are being talked down to. Imus professes to be a jerk, and may be so, but you never feel like your listening to a jerk. Chaz comes across as condescending, not only to his listeners but his coworkers. He never lets you forget its his show. AJ, ummm...am I the only one that notices the speech impediment? so why not have him do unfunny 6 minute song parodies. If radio ever needed subtitles, its with him. Billy winn??? Why, did they decide that this was the one person that should be salvaged from the Smith and Barber scrap heap? As far as Megan, I'm lost as far as she not being there. What does that mean? Together its just a recipe for very stale, self serving radio. Like I stated after 10 am, you dont mind the station as much because the announcers are an easier listen. Do they sound bored? Yes, but wouldnt you be? but at least you get the impression that they like what thier doing and appreciate the audience. Hopefully 104.1 will do the smart thing and bring in a proven morning show to compete with these guys.

She's pulling a Dee Snider. She's working from home in her bathrobe and slippers via a high speed connection.

Also, I don't want 104.1 to bring in a morning show. I love what they have right no which is no DJ's and music all the time. It gives me a choice in the morning. I can either listen to Sebastian talk on WCCC or music on WPHH depending on my mood,

Chaz & AJ will finally lose there grip of the greater new haven area

Its easy to be number 1 when the competition is so soft. Up until now they have havent really been challenged for listenership, and Imus just may be litmus test for these guys to stake their claim. The question is will PLR's morning listeners, who hoot and high five at flatulance jokes will tune into a show aimed at a higher I.Q audience. I also have not heard a confirmation for Imus on 960. Are we speculating or is this a done deal?
