Cheap Broadcast Console for Internet Station

Okay, Ive looked and havent found anything too awesome. I really don't want the traditional "live sound" boards but more of a traditional broadcast console. Is there anywhere to buy a used analog console or get one for under a grand? Please point me in the right direction! :)

Keep an eye on ebay as they come up there now and again. Just watch the people who think their dinosaurs are worth crazy money - avoid them like the plague.

not sure how many channels you require, or why such a console is needed..not saying you don't know what your doing..just curious..i'm an old rock jock from the the 60's/70's and run a toy station for my amusement and use a six channel behringer mixer someone gave me, has tons of effects in it, phantom power, and plenty of EQ and headroom..my background is radio, studio recording, live sound mixing as well as a musician..and my approach has always been...don't try to get too sophisticated...i run a teac reel to reel,as well as a teac cassette through the mixer for production and dubbing old media to hard drive..and that little 100.00 mixer does it all fine..and i've used super expensive equipment at various times...and for internet broadcasting this works just fine..if i could afford one..just for the looks..i'd have an old gates tube board from the fifties to run through..but i'm hopelessly old school..lol..if you want to sample what my stream sounds like with the equipment...go to my web site www.chucklundi.com just an old guy playing the good stuff with a small and loyal group of followers...good luck

Was going to say why are we looking to super expensive consoles unless we are putting together a commercial studio...

I have a very expensive studio six figures worth and I would say 98% of the time it's simply overkill unless I am recording live music or something.

I generally cut my show using a $140 Behringer 12 channel mixer and for my DAW Console Interface I have a ZOOM R16 Digital Recorder / Interface $399

And depending on your needs they have an R8 for $299 or an R24 for $499

I will add to this as to why the need for a broadcast console, though the Arrakis console is nice, and not too pricy.

I use a Yamaha MG124cx that is still a bit of an overkill for an online station (though I use it for other purposes too).

Nice to have a broadcast console in some respect, but not sure the extra expense is worth it, unless you have money to burn for a full blown radio studio for an online-only station.
