dave pulled a few strings a few years ago about some breach of contract when he was on rock 1053.

What did he say on-air?

As for trying to pressure management with breach of contract or other such tactics: well, where you gonna go and how could a morning jock (even on Dave's salary) afford to get into litigation with Clear Channel? They have near monopoly status in San Diego and if you're a high-paid morning team there is no place else to work.

all he said is he is doing everything in his power and in talks with clear channel .he is pretty bummed out.dont know what he has up his sleeve.

I would assume Tommy has a contract tied to J&J. There may also be clauses in the J&J contract protecting their support staff, not necessarily by name specifically, but in terms of providing some level of support people to the show. You wouldn't want to open that can of worms should something like that be the case.

I don't know about J&J's contract but Roger Hedgecock's staff is protected under his contract. In Jimmy Valentine's case, he was first fired by Roger and then by CC -- a double whammy.

I'm surprised DSC team didn't have the same type clause ... or, perhaps they do just not specifically mentioning "stunt man."

that is kind of funny that bromo is still on the site.i caled the dsc this morning and emily said bromo is very sick.she and the dsc crew didnt specify if he was let go or not.they are not even shure.

HMMM, last time I checked, being in a low level engineer, had nothing to do with programming a station or running a promotion. Just thought I would point that out.

Are we just a touch bitter. They may not actually program a station or execute promotions, but without the engineers (low level or otherwise) you wouldn't have a listenable signal to put your programming and promotions on. Sounds to me like just another starry eyed soul who had their dreams stomped on by the boot heels of Corporate America. Just thought I'd point THAT out. ;D

I would like to point out that in Tuesday's melee at Granite Ridge Drive, there were no Program Directors let go. The marketing director is still there. All of the engineers and IT folks survived. The entire executive office survived. I just hope that CC takes some of the $400 million in savings, and hires more desperately needed Senior VP's, Regional VP's and Brand Managers. Someone who knows what they are doing will need to teach the local GM's how to run the board when they are the last ones left in the building.

they are always the last one's to go and the stations success or failure is determined on their good or bad decisions. But they will never admit THEY made a bad decision. I will miss hearing Ruth, Ditch, Bobbie and hope karma for their miss fortunes comes sooner than later.

Bromo was one of my friends when I was at Q106, and we'd hang out together round the station. Here's hoping he finds a new gig soon!

Bromo, is one of those people that has a genuine "pure heart". He is a great person, that would literally give the shirt off of his back for someone. The decision to get rid of Jizzy was absolutely unnecessary he was very creative, especially when there was no money to be spent for the promotion. There were several other promotions directors in the building that did less and cost more money.

And VTR to answer your arrogant retort of my position at CC, I started off in the San Diego market as a board op (under Gene Knight), and worked my way up to a staff engineer there and did it within 10 years. I am proud of my accomplishments, especially in the current climate of broadcasting. I also have to say that I worked with the best engineering staff on the planet PERIOD, and we all worked as a team and they were more like family than co-workers. I never had a better work experience in my life than I had working for John Rigg, and working with Ron Foo, Dean Imhof, and of course the venerable Bill Thompson, and Kevin Boyle. Today I am the CHIEF ENGINEER of a station, and I left CC to go and do an HD build out of this station. So I would say that I am not a Low grade engineer. And I have worked EXTENSIVELY in programming so I am entitled to my opinions on programing! As is everyone else on this board!
