Check Out Another HD Channel

I'm biased though, I must tell you upfront, as I am the Program Director...

But it's a pretty balanced blend of Dance, Hip-Hop and POP with remixes of all 3 genres mixed in. It was designed that way.

So far we've got a handful of markets on the air with it as their HD-2 side channel. Including: Minneapolis, Wichita, Pittsburgh, Toledo and Grand Rapids. With more to be expected in the next two quarters. As the powers that be are beginning to see that HD is supposed to be "different" than what is being programmed on their main HD channels, and this is one format that can satisfy both needs.

Let me know what you guys think...I try to stay cutting edge, but it gets difficult to find records with the limited dance label support here in the states. Believe me, I try to find as much as I can, but it's tough.

http://music.formatlab.net/dance.htm - Select CLUB PHUSION, it's the first selection (Channel 204)
If you REALLY want to hear something pretty cool, KDWB actually tracks a couple of shifts on their HD2 channel with this format: http://www.kdwb.com/pages/hd/index.html

The concept is pretty cool, and it's a shame there aren't any non-HD FM stations adopting this format. It definitely sounds great on KDWB's side channel with the on-air jocks.

It's not to say that it's out of the question for the HD-1 channel to take it on, albeit, mostly for holiday or specialty programming. Several of the Format Lab formats have been used to launch stations all over, most noteably The Bull in Atlanta, it was launched with one of the reverse clock new country formats.

But I really like how KDWB has embraced it and is using it to better their brand and they're also using it as a training ground for their part-timers to get more on-air experience which you have to admire.
