Checkered flag comes down on Joe Williams

Hadn't made rounds over to Rutledge Hill in a couple of weeks and didn't realize until I read the paper today (online, of course) that the Sunday morning Speed Zone has crossed its finish line. Course, I can't blame Joe for looking forward to being able to attend services again with his family, as the only reason I knew he had still been on was because I tuned him in on the way to or from church myself. Still, I'll miss him being around, as he was always at least interesting because he seemed so free to speak his mind. He's always had a lot of irons in the fire, but I hope he'll find time to do a couple of more hours on radio sometime again in the future.

The concept of "Bud Select Zone" aside, that was one of the more interesting prime-time local sports programs.<P ID="signature">______________

What was it about the Bud Select Zone that you like? I enjoyed it as well. I didnt like the contest, thoght that was pretty stupid. But Joe and his team on that show---I don't remember who it was, I know they are no longer there at 1045 anymore, they were interesting. Does anyone know if 1045 has plans to go to another evening show after the hockey season?
