CHELSEA HANDLER ON THE TONIGHT SHOW

Chelsea Handler made an appearance on Wednesday's "the Tonight Show" to promote the release of her latest book. I'm a Chelsea Handler fan- I'd watch her show before Leno or Conan, but I never figured her as important to be the top guest on the debut week of a "new" Tonight Show. Were we seeing early corporate synergy at hand?

Her appearance got me thinking, though. Once Comcast and NBC have officially joined forces, will they groom her for a guest host role or some other position at NBC late night? "Chelsea Lately" certainly draws big ratings for E! With all the talk of Stewart and Colbert being likely candidates for succession at CBS, it seems that she would have a similar shot at drawing a younger audience to network late nights.

Also, does this mean that "Late Night with Khloe Kardashian" is far behind?

I saw that appearance and I was also thinking the same thing since Comcast owns E!. We've all seen the crossovers that the Weather Channel has with NBC, so it's only a matter of time before we see it with Comcast and NBC-branded channels if they officially joined forces.

I don't want to see either Stewart or Colbert get the Late Show when Letterman retires. In my opinion Craig Ferguson is more deserving of that position than either Stewart or Colbert. However, I don't have a problem with either one of them taking over the Late Late Show if Ferguson decides to leave CBS altogether or he ends up taking over Letterman's time-slot.
