Cherokee people want Jeep Cherokee renamed

I wouldn't put any faith in that "one quarter" thing. She's back peddled from the heritage thing in recent years. Now she says she's 1/16th Cherokee.
Well, I do know this. On "E.T." or one of those shows like that she was visiting Armenian children and she introduced herself as Cher Sarkisian. That's a very common name in Armenia. So she acknowledged her Armenian heritage, at least then.

Only a quarter? So is that enough?
This article appears to find that Cher's claims of Native American (specifically Cherokee) ancestry were unverifiable and states that she was no longer claiming such ancestry at all as of 2019.

If the surname is as common in Armenia as it seems to be, "possibly" might be a better word than "probably." You wouldn't say every Patel in India, Park in Korea or Smith in England is "probably" related to all the others, would you?
"Possibly" is even optimistic. Where I used to live in Glendale, CA, there were two Sarkisian families, unrelated, on the same block!
