Cheviots ' Radio Station

Yes they had one . The years I knew about it - was 1958-59. My Dad took me
there. It was on Harrison Avenue above the old Cheviot Show. The whole radio
station I think was in two rooms. One guy ran the whole thing. Sold some time,
was the engineer and the announcer. You never knew when the station would
be on the air. He ran some live sporting events from the West Side of town and
some ladies oriented shows and that was about it. I think they had one turntable
and no cart machines. The main control board was maybe early radio shack or
just a audio mixer - rigged up .... I could pick up the station in Cheviot on Delmar
avenue, but some other places the reception was weak. I am sure it was FM and
back in thoes days FM was pretty much a step child. Does anyone know anything
about it. Call letters.. Output power..Who owned it ? What happened to it ? The
show was next to Woolworths... Would like to find out more info about it .
