Chevy's new spokesman: Sean Hannity

Bob Seger must have been getting a little too expensive, so GM went out and hired . . . Sean Hannity.

One of the new Chevys that Hannity will push is the Silverado truck. GM was all set to run ads for the Silverado that feature images of 9/11.

Interesting. That says something about Sean's audience, and about Chevy Truck's target market. Most likely it confirms the image of right-wingers, too.
Maybe Mike Gallagher could pick up a NASCAR gig.
Maybe El Rushbo could be the new NRA spokesman (from the guy who parted the Red Sea to the guy with talent on loan from God).

Well, that little deal blew up in GM's face after their phone lines melted down yesterday. One of the GM reps supposedly wrote a message on Thinkprogress' site saying they're open to deals with other talk show hosts as well... and could they please stop the phone calls. :)

This is another bad move on the part of the American auto industry's spectacular series of bad moves. Allowing your corporate image to be tied to a talk show host as political as Sean Hannity is going to be a disaster for the 50% of the country that hates him. The same would be true if they cut a deal with Randi Rhodes. There is a reason a lot of advertisers don't touch political talk radio. GM just had a reminder why.

Shawn would be better for Chevy Trucks.
Dr. Laura for those Mini-Vans soccer moms like.
Randi for Saturns.
Dave Ramsey would be out since he tells people to save their money and buy old clunkers cheap.
