When I refer to CBS heritage sports stations, I'm refering to WFAN New York, WSCR Chicago and WIP Philadelphia in particular. 'FAN and 'SCR are on 50 kW blaster AM signals, WIP has a strong stick also, though not a blaster. Those three were the pioneering sports stations, dating back to the late 80s and early 90s. WFAN is the oldest, launching in 1987.
WSCR began on 820, moved to 1160 and did not move to the fulltime clear channel frequency of 670 until 2000.
WFAN was a creation of Emmis, who sold to Infinity who did not sell to CBS until nearly 10 years after the format started.
WIP transitioned to all sports in 1988, the year Ed Snider bought it. Snider sold later to Infinity and, like WFAN, came to CBS via the Infinity merger.
None were pioneered by CBS.
WXYZ / WXYT is, like WIP, a long-time talker that transitioned to sports and it is really an example of the same heritage... locally owned station that went to Infinity and eventually ended up being more and more sports focused.
