Chicago news on-air issues

Let me first preface this and say... I'm not perfect, so. I also know this is TV, not radio, but...

My beef is, watching the news, mostly Channel 5, but I also see it on WGN, is nothing but production errors, anchors that can't read and speak the story properly, stumbling over words, etc...

We're in the 3rd largest market. Our anchors and news should be top notch, spit and polished professionals...

Recently, I was in Rockford, and while in the hotel room, was watching WTVO's 10pm newscast (BTW, my wife worked in their newsroom eons ago). While still being small town, the anchors delivered the stories perfectly, no annunciation problems, segued between each other perfectly and no production issues.

Watching channel 5 last night, Rosanne messed up multiple reads, they had a camera mix up, Rob Stafford tried to cover, but still, the cameras weren't being switched right, and between the two of them, they butchered two stories. It would be fine if this was just one time, or say after a new setup, new graphics, or what not, but this is every night. It's especially painful listening to them trying to read the story.

What gives?

Again, I'm not perfect, but goof grief!

Hard to say I don't pay attention to the news, or very really watch the tv new, I do see the WGN Morning news as Dean Richards was broadcasting his part from the WGN Radio studios as it was Bob Sirrott's first morning show as the new morning man. But even even if they mess up with mornings news, they will at least repeat the same news stories over and over again, io it is not like they do they do it ice and done. You did post this on the radio boards for Chicago, but when you like WGN Morning news, they an FOX are the only Chicago tv stations that gets to do a local newscast that runs pat 7 AM, as CBS, NBC, and ABC all have national programming that come on at that tim, even if it is on an hoo tape delay. WGN TV has morning news run until 10 AM, but you can't expect them to be perfect either.

It does happen on the radio side too. I do listen to WBBM newsradio as a fallback sometimes and some of them have issues too. Lisa Fielding is one off the top of my head, that sometimes can be painful to listen to.
