Chicago Pirates

Ahoy there! I'm planning a trip to Chicago in the near future and am interested in airchecking some pirates. Where can I find them? Thanks in advance for any help!

You can listen to me! on "Super Rabbit Radio" 91.1 on the FM dial.
We're on every Wednesday from 7pm to 10pm and we broadcast up to a half mile
near by Midway Airport over on 63rd & Austin Ave.

We play Rare & Obscure oldies and neighborhood upcoming events.

Also, to let you know that there is another pirate radio station out in Palatine IL,
in which it is broadcast out of an communistic institution, it is a place called:
"Little Havana" Located off of Roselle Rd and Algonquinn Rd.
They broadcast mainly Cuban-Jewish programming in english on two different radio frequencies on on the FM band 88 or 89. something (not too sure the exact freq)
they change frequencies every so often, and the other is on the shortwave band on 6000.00 KHz.

Check it out...

I would be carefull admitting you do this on this site, seems to be alot of FCC lovers here and i wouldnt want you to get found out!! (Especially seeing as you listed where you are)

Take care

A pirate on 6000 KHz with cuban programing?? Thats the same frequency as Radio Havana Cuba's nightime broadcast. Assuming the signal is decent in Chicago, Castro's station would obliterate any flea power pirate on the same channel.

Also 1.71Mhz in NYC does Jewish programming (I hear them only @ night being in albany and all)

This is in the State of Illinois in the town called Palatine,
NOT in New York City!!!

Little Havana (Oops correction) I ment to say "Little Cuba" NOT Little Havana.

Besides Little Cuba in Palatine IL. is a Cuban-Jewish organization for children and adults who are mentally disabled with other disabilites.

All though I am not neither Cuban nor Jewish. I had served my time in Little Cuba for about 20 long years! I have lived in that communistic institution and they have the same practice and the same laws of the rules and regulations just like the real country of Havana Cuba. but I am no Longer there anymore.

Are you referring to Little City?

A am not allowd to make any comments on that, because I need to be very carful on this board of what I am saying or using actual real names.

If I were to say or use the name: Little City, there could be a law suit againts me,
even if I used their name. So there for, I will NOT make any comments on it...

Gotcha. 'Nuff said.

Speaking of pirates.....it appears that 97-3 The Hawk is back on in Joliet. The best signal is at the intersection of Larkin and Jefferson St's. They play all kinds of stuff....sometimes heavy metal....classic rock, classic hits, etc.

97-3 The Hawk....Ethernet Radio--at least that is what the sweepers I heard said.
